Mystery Shop Freebie

Sometimes, we get mystery shop jobs that pay us to remove all of one item that a store carries by buying them out. We get reimbursed for the purchases and also paid for doing that.

Most of the time it’s small things. The most significant thing was stress gummies for $10.99 per bottle. I got 11 of these, free (paid for up front and then reimbursed plus paid). I’m still working on those gummies. Some have melatonin, and some are for the daytime.

Now we have the opportunity to buy all of this tool box

$79.99 each- and you don’t just buy one, if you buy one then you have to buy all that the store has. There are five different locations of Walmart listed, but you can choose to do one location only or up to all five locations.

This tool box reminds me of when I was about 19 or 20 and I took five sewing classes over the course of three semesters. There was a woman in the classes that was probably the same age then that I am now (God I thought she was so old lol). She used to haul around a big old thing like this with literally all the sewing supplies she owned. She didn’t need to do that, but she thought she might need something that the teacher didn’t already have in the classroom lol.

I’m debating whether I want to do this job or not. If I get to one of the locations and there’s an ungodly amount of these to have to purchase, then I could always just reject the job 🤷🏻‍♀️

There’s a lot I could do with these. Or is there? What would you do?  I’ll probably accept the jobs and then cancel them if I don’t want whatever amount they have. If they’re out of these, then I still get the amount of pay which is $7.50 (per location).

  1. That could be a lot of money out of pocket until the reimbursement arrives. Are there any restrictions on selling the tool boxes on Facebook Marketplace or eBay? If not, you could get extra money for the ones you don't need.

    2. I was going to say that you could sell them, and saw that they were damaged. :(
